Collaboration of ceramics and moss.

Meet pottery artist, Pamela Schick

In my earlier years, I had a fulfilling career as a dancer, choreographer, and movement educator.  When dance was no longer an option, I turned to clay as a moving and formative art medium. I love seeing the dance like malleability of the clay rendered into pieces reflective of the motion of bodies, and the elements of nature.  Nature loves geometry. She allows each individual plant, tree, or even entire geological formation to reflect its abstract geometry, and then to be surprised and made original by the local conditions. That is also underlying my process.  The abstract forms structure the work and the dialogue between clay and hand give it the flow, the local conditions!  Some have asked me, when they see my pieces, is this real? I say, yes ! its real clay!

When JJ approached me for a collaboration, I thought we were a perfect fit, forming bits of the natural world into artistic form.
