Is the moss real?

Yes, it is 100% real and looks and feels real but it is no longer alive. The moss used in preserved moss walls is harvested live and then put through a simple process to replace the natural “sap” Once this is complete the now preserved moss will maintain the same natural moss texture. Once this is done a food-grade dye is applied so that it stays a consistent natural color for years to come.

Should I water them?

No. Preserved moss does not need water (or any care for that matter).

Does it have a smell?

Some types of moss do have a light earthy odor which will dissipate in a few week’s time.

How long do moss walls last?

Although there are walls still looking good well past it, we say 10 + years is the expected life of a moss wall before a refresh is needed.

Does preserved moss work outdoors?

Unfortunately, preserved moss breaks down in direct sunlight and does not hold up well to outdoor elements. In areas protected from the sun, rain and moisture, pillow moss can be used outdoors. Generally, we recommend either a Live or Artificial Plant Wall outdoors.

All payments must be made before the item is shipped. Custom work requires a non-refundable deposit of 70% of the total amount.
